The pump of Pharmacia Biotech type P-900 is to be used, as well as HPLC and FPLC pump. HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) requires high pressure to push the mobile phase through the column, this high pressure is supplied by the HPLC pump. This pump can also be used as the FPLC pump of the ÄKTA 100 system, wherein purification of protein is carried out on the basis of FPLC (Fast protein liquid chromatograph).
